I tried, honest!

I tried and the rust will not come out.

Firstly I tried good old Fairy Liquid, then old fashioned green household soap and then vinegar. In desperation I even tried bleach! But the rust will not shift.

I even counted out the stitches to see if the rust would be covered, yes in 2/3 places. However, when the fabric had dried I noticed that either the rust had run or the bleach had affected the fabric and there was now a larger pale yellow spot around the rust mark. So this really is a none starter. I will finish the backstitching on the completed hedgehog and turn him into something, don't know what.

Any ideas?

maybe try some clr in the water or some oxy clean. I do know that oxy almost works on everything!! I use the stain spray and the soap. The Clr though don't know it it might turn the fabic I would maybe use that as last resort, or maybe another stitcher has used it before?

Sorry it wouldn't come out but at least you can salvage some of the design.

I once spilled a drink on a huge Garden of Eden piece I stitched. When it wouldn't come out, a good friend of mine drew in a tree for me to stitch with enough leaves to cover it. Could you perhaps cover the stains with some lazy daisy flowers? Something simple that you could put into both designs so they continue the similarity?

Sorry - I've had that happen to me too. Try some lemon juice. Saturate the area with fresh squeezed lemon juice, and allow it to sit for a while, Putting it in sunlight seems to help the lemon juice work.

I have heard that the lemon juice that Nita mentioned works pretty well. Good luck!
