my next project...

is the GGM Sampler by Kelly Searles of Suthern Stitching. This became a UFO in October when I misplaced it in the house! So I'll be stitching on it every day at lunch in order to get caught up with the rest of the German Marquoir Group!

I'm stitching this on 40 count linen, which I dyed myself with coffee, and I'm using DMC floss, 1 over 2. What you see stitched is the bottom left-hand side of the sampler.

Zentangle is finished!

Zentangle is finished! I put the last few stitches into it last night, and now it's ready for framing.

As you can see, I decided to turn the design on the side (East-West). It didn't look balanced in the North-South orientation. Must be a mis-count somewhere in there!

The frame is just resting on top of the finished stitching. I've got to get some mat board and get it laced this week so that I can hang it!

So what will the next UFO be? I don't know yet, but I have all day to pick one! I'll post a before photo as soon as I pick it.

Zentangle

Here's the UFO I decided to pull out of the pile to start working on: Zentangle. This was a project I started this fall with the German Marquoir Yahoo group. I made great progress--stitching 9 of the 11 installments, and then the holidays came, the project got tucked into a drawer, and you know the rest...

I'll be stitching on this during my lunchtime every weekday, and I hope to have it finished by the end of February.

Mansfield Park update

I had such enjoyment working on Mansfield Park last weekend--I decided that instead of just stitching on it on Sunday afternoons I would continue stitching on it all week! Here's my progress for the week:

I've almost finished stitching the house, of course I noticed that the house wasn't symmetrical half-way through, so I had to make some adjustments (I had already stitched the roof line and didn't want to frog it) to the windows and the door, but it seems to have worked out OK.

I'll be bringing this one along to work with me again this week and making it the main focus of my at-home stitching as well. I'm really looking forward to having it finished and hanging up as the start of my 'literary' stitching wall!
