Dragon Riders Update

Not a great deal has been achieved on Dragon Riders in the last month. I have it on rotation but the week I was due to stitch it I ended up stitching something else as well. I've taken this off of my NeedleNeeds wooden frame & reverted to one of my Q-snaps with it & I must admit that some quicker stitching took place over the weekend. I've posted a before & after photo so that you can see that I really did do something... honest :-)

Happy Stitching :-)

HAED Update

Morning all..........Right, it's been a good month since I posted. I had decided to work on a Dimensions UFO called Who's Watching Whom but I had no enthusiasm for it at all. I managed about 3 stitches before I just shelved it. I know the idea is to complete those kinds of UFO's but it just wasn't doing it for me & thats just a waste of good stitching time!

I decided to go back to my HAED Dragon Riders. This was started in July 2007 I love it, I have a space on my wall all picked out for it. It became a UFO as apart from working full time in my shop I was stitching it on 25ct over one & progress was very slow, maybe I'm just getting old but it was too much & I like to design too much for it to just get forgotten about. DH bought me some new fabric for it, a much more suitable 18ct aida :-)

The first picture is how far I managed to get stitched back in 2007 (I know.. not much at all!) & the second picture is what I've done over the last couple of weeks. I'd hoped to be posting a picture if a finished page one but not quite. I intend stitching on it for at least a week each month, if not more.

Happy Stitching :-)

Decided

Right..... maybe it was a sugar rush I needed as I've decided on the next UFO to work on.

It's Who's Watching Whom by Dimensions. I started it in 1999 (OMG is it really that long ago???), I was in the states visiting my parents & picked one from my mums stash to start while I was there. It became a UFO because the two cats were time consuming & I think after spending so much time stitching them I'd simply had enough. I've been back to it a few times & have gradually done some more. Hopefully this time I'll get even further.

A New UFO..... or not!

I was about to get started on some lunch time stitching & had picked up my UFO, well it sat infront of me for about 15 minutes before I realised that I have no enthusiasm about it at all. I'm afraid to say that it's gone back in the UFO pile!

It's taken me about 20 more minutes to pick a new UFO to work on & i've got nowhere fast. Does anyone else ever have this? Maybe I'll revisit the pile later & something will cry out at me to be finished.

Christmas Trees Update

Just a quick post with a little update. Twins are poorly at the moment & I'm just waiting for our Dr to give me a call back.

Thought I'd let you see the small amount of progress that I've made on Christmas Trees. I need to add the backstitch to the gingham tree & thats the 2nd of 5 trees complete. Slow going but at least it's going in the right direction :-)

Sorry about the blurry picture, not sure what happened there!

My Next UFO

After almost a week of dithering I have picked my next UFO. Based on the time of year I thought I go with Christmas Trees by Cinnamon Cat. Yes that's right, another design by Cinnamon Cat, I fell in love with them all & have quite a few in my stash!

This is what the finished design will look like:

This is where I'm at so far:

I started this in December 2006, progress was good right up until christmas itself & then it got shelved. The intention then became to finish it for the following christmas but by then the "to do" pile had more than doubled.... the pros & cons of owning your own stitching shop, you get all the new stuff but not enough hours in the day to stitch any of it!

An update will follow in a week or so, happy stitching.

I've finished...... yayyyyy

I'm over the moon. I've finished my first piece of stitching since before the twins were born. Only thing left to do is stitch my name & the date but I thought I'd share it with you first.

I can't get it framed just yet as I have another to do for my little boy Robert & although his one won't be so pink it is about the same size so they'll be framed at the same time.

Now to decide on my next UFO..... so much choice LOL

Baby Love Progress

Evening all... well it's evening in London, UK :-)

I couldn't wait until the end of the month to post my latest update as I was excited by my own progress. The backstitch has done it's job & really defined the design. There isn't much to do so I just need to stick with & I'll soon have a finish on my hands.

My main stitching day has been a Monday, its the only day that twins are at nursery but next week is half term so they'll be at home & we also have house guests that week so I'm afraid my progress may slow somewhat.

I'm looking forward to picking out my next UFO to tackle.

Happy Stitching All

Baby Love Progress

It's been a couple of weeks since I joined you all & decided to get going on the UFO's. I'm quite pleased with the progress i've made. The main body of the design is really taking shape now & I'm desperate to get it to the point where I can add the backstitch... I just know that the backstitch will really bring it to life :-)

I'm really enjoying getting back into stitching. One week today & I'm off to Ally Pally... can't wait!

Starting Small

Hello all.
I'm returning to stitching after having a bit of a break. I've been cross stitching since I was a small child & up until last year I had my own successful Needlework Shop. I sold my shop when I found out I was expecting twins. The twins were born in May 2008 & apart from the picture below I haven't stitched a thing.

I thought i'd get back into it with a small design. I picked out two little birth samplers to do after the twins were born & I started on my daughters first. I managed to stitch for probably about a month before it became impossible to get anything done, let alone stitching.

The design called Baby Love & is one of the Kittens range by Cinnamon Cat. It's been a UFO now for about 14 months & I plan to stitch at least one evening a week & hopefully get some lunch time stitching in too.
I love reading everyones progress on here. Happy stitching.
