Returning to Oz

It's been two months since I last posted. My--there sure has been a lot of fantastic stitching and wonderful, wonderful finishes! Congratulations to you all!

My major project this year is the large Serenity Prayer sampler by My Big Toe which I've been stitching for my cousin's 20th year of sobriety anniversary. I was about half way done when I discovered a major mistake that couldn't be worked around. I had to rip out about a third of everything I had done. (Did you hear my primal scream?) It took me three weeks to rip and I didn't want to work on my WIP until I had corrected all my stitching.

Now, finally, I'm back with a little progress to show and it's very good to be here. Thanks for looking:

I don't know why this design is so much trouble. But I finally have decent progress to show. It's a frustrating piece, but I'm soldiering on with your encouragement!

Back to Oz

Here's my first update! It's not much to look at...the little bit of moon and the start of the castle. I hope to finish the castle for my next update. I think you've all inspired me to do the outlining as I go along. Then maybe it won't be such an onerous task at the end.

I really like this design. When finished it really does look like Margaret Hamilton.

Wicked Witch of the West

I'm posting the project I've decided to upgrade from UFO to WIP. It's the Wicked Witch of the West, which is probably close to ten years old. I've started it twice but keep losing my place on the background circle. As I have a major project I'm working on right now for my cousin, I plan to work on this only one hour a week starting in May. Even that will be big progress.
